The Carbon Laser Facial
Body Enhance offers two types of Laser Skin Rejuvenation. Standard Laser Skin Rejuvenation and Carbon Laser Skin Rejuvenation. Both very similar treatments but the carbon treatment includes a carbon face mask.
Laser skin rejuvenation is a type of photo-rejuvenation treatment, non-invasive skin treatment where a laser light is projected on to the skin blemishes to be treated.
The energy delivered causes the problematic cells to heat up and break down into substances which can then be absorbed and discarded via the blood stream. The blemishes treated are mostly found on the skin's surface, the "dermis", but the laser energy also heats up sub skin tissues (the "epidermis"), this causes increased collagen production which does wonders towards improving overall skin complexion.
Skin Rejuvenation has many benefits making many types of skin blemishes less visible and in some cases altogether vanish. There are several areas of skin which can be treated using laser skin rejuvenation. Such treatments are administered onto facial skin, legs, arms, torso and hands.

The Carbon Laser treatment is a laser procedure for enhancing the skin’s radiance and promoting a smooth, glowing complexion just as the standard Laser Skin Rejuvenation but with the addition of a Carbon face mask applied 10 minutes prior to the laser treatment, which removes the carbon mask as the light is applied. This form of Skin Rejuvenation also reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, blemishes, acne scarring, black & whiteheads and can make a significant difference to the overall look of your skin.

The Treatment
Prior To Treatment
Your first discussion with the Practitioner should clearly set out your expectations. This should be matched by the recommended treatment and your Practitioner will advise you whether the treatment can achieve the results you require.
A medical history will be taken to ensure that there are no reasons why you shouldn’t have this form of treatment. You will also be requested to read detailed information and sign a consent form at this time to ensure that you have understood the potential benefits and risks associated with the laser procedure recommended.
We carry out a small patch test to ensure that you do not have an unidentified intolerance to either the carbon paste or the laser. Once we are happy that the treatment is suitable, we will ask for your written consent to proceed with your treatment.
Photographs may also be taken by the Practitioner for a "before and after" comparison at a later date.
During the Treatment
You will be required to wear eye protectors for all laser procedures.
If opting for the carbon treatment the mask will be applied to cleansed skin then left to dry for 10 mins before removal. If not using the carbon mask, the skin will simply be cleansed and the treatment will begin.
You will feel a light tingle during the treatment and a slightly warming sensation but no pain.
Aftercare
It is advisable to avoid excessive sun exposure during the treatment period. Makeup can be applied after treatment but it is advised to only use mineral makeup for the first 48 hours for best results. Aesthetic products for acne, hyper pigmentation, wrinkles etc can also be used.
There is no restriction of daily activities after the treatment. The skin is occasionally slightly pink immediately after treatment, but this subsides after a few hours.

Does the Treatment hurt?
No, neither treatment hurts, the treatment is non invasive and gentle, most people describe the sensation as a light tingling feeling. The treatment takes approximately 30 mins from start to finish (please allow an extra 15 minutes for consultation).
How does the Carbon Laser Skin Rejuvenation work?
When performing the laser treatment, a carbon lotion is applied to the skin and allowed to dry over a period of 10 minutes. Then, the fractional laser is used to heat and cause an implosion of the carbon particles. The laser light is absorbed by the carbon paste focusing the laser energy on the epidermis. As the laser moves across the skin the carbon paste is gently vacuumed up, exfoliating the skin and removing any debris in pores. The treatment minimises pore sizes and the thermal effect of the laser beam stimulates collagen renewal. The treatment is comfortable and only a minor sensation similar to pins and needles is felt.
How many treatments will I need?
A visible difference should be noticed with one individual treatment, but a course of six treatments with a 7-10 day interval between each treatment is advised for maximum results. After treatment your skin will be cleansed and a moisturising treatment applied. As carbon Laser Skin Rejuvenation give an instant improvement to skin tone and texture, some clients like to have a single session to have porcelain skin before a big event or night out.
What Improvements will I see?
You will see a reduction in pore size, fine lines and blemishes. Your skin tone will be improved and rejuvenated giving a more youthful appearance.
How long does it last?
Results are improved if sun exposure, smoking and stress are kept to a minimum. The results may last for months to a year or two; however, the longevity of any effect is determined by the skin condition, skin type and lifestyle.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation Side Effects?
Laser skin rejuvenation is a non-invasive med aesthetic treatment designed to remove skin blemishes and stimulate increased production of collagen which works to improve overall appearance of the skin. These treatments are considered very safe, there are laser skin rejuvenation side effects, but these are usually minimal and are easy to cope with, such as slight itching in the skin due to regeneration of the skin cells.
How Safe is Laser Skin Rejuvenation?
Since laser skin rejuvenation side effects are virtually insignificant and complications are extremely rare these treatments are considered very safe.
